Description: Senior Corporal Ahrens and Police Officers Patrick Zamarripa, Michael Krol, and Michael Smith and Dallas Rapid Area Transit Police Officer Brent Thompson were shot and killed in an ambush attack during a protest in Dallas, Texas. The suspect was killed during a standoff with police. Senior Corporal Ahrens succumbed to his wounds the following day.
