Description: Chief of Police Ahlstrand was struck by a semi-truck while standing on the shoulder of the road talking to a motorist. Chief Ahlstrand had stopped the motorist for speeding when the incident occurred. Chief Ahlstrand died at the scene. Two children, who were occupants in the parked vehicle, also died. Five others were injured. The driver of the semi was charged with reckless homicide.
