Description: Officer Acosta-Ray was shot and killed when he and his partner responded to a burglary call at a construction site. Officer Acosta-Ray and his partner were in plainclothes and driving an unmarked vehicle. Both officers were ambushed with a AK-47 rifle as they exited their patrol car. Officer Acosta-Ray was shot thirteen times and pronounced dead at the scene. His partner was able to return fire and kill one of the three suspects.
