Description: On June 17, 2011, Detective Archer was responding to a wanted suspect call in his department vehicle, with flashing lights and siren activated, when he was struck by another vehicle at an intersection. Detective Archer was released from his duties for the rest of the day. Later that evening, Detective Archer complained of chest, back, and leg pain. He was transported to the hospital where he was diagnosed with type B aortic dissection. Detective Archer remained in the hospital and succumbed to his injuries one month later on July 13, 2011.
