Description: Special Deputy U.S. Marshal Adair was shot four times by a bootlegger he had arrested previously in Boswell, Oklahoma. Marshal Adair returned fire, wounding the suspect. Deputy Adair died of his injuries the next day. The suspect was convicted of manslaughter.
