Description: Sergeant Aamold was shot when he and a fellow officer attempted to question two suspicious men in a saloon. The saloon owner had the officers summoned because he believed he was about to be robbed. Sergeant Aamold took one suspect into custody and was escorting him to headquarters when the suspect pulled a gun and shot Sergeant Aamold in the abdomen. Sergeant Aamold was transported to the hospital where he died of his injuries the next day. The suspect fled the scene and was not apprehended.
