Description: Guard Arnold drowned when the department boat capsized. Guard Arnold and two trustees were on a small boat sailing from the McNeil Island facility in Washington to the mainland for supplies. About halfway across the river, a squall caused the boat to capsize. All three men fell into the water and drowned. Their bodies were never recovered.
