Description: On July 23, 2001, Officer Allen responded to an emergency call for assistance at the Nassau Correctional Facility. Officer Allen slipped on a puddle of milk that was thrown on the floor by inmates. His foot became wedged under the bars which caused severe back and neck injuries. Officer Allen's first disc replacement surgery failed. Officer Allen died on March 16, 2005 while undergoing the second operation for the disc replacement.
