Description: On November 19, 1995, Trooper Adkins responded to a domestic disturbance call and engaged in a struggle with the suspect before placing him in a headlock. Shortly after the arrest, Trooper Adkins began to have severe chest pains. He went to the doctor the following day and received doctors approval that his health was fine and he could return to work. Trooper Adkins health continued to deteriorate. On November 24, 1995, while at the hospital, he suffered a heart attack and died. The autopsy revealed that Trooper Adkins suffered a torn aorta and this injury led to his death.
