Description: Officer Adams was shot and killed during a traffic stop of a DUI suspect. While working a special four-hour DUI enforcement assignment, Officer Adams stopped a suspected drunk driver. While attempting to arrest the suspect, the suspect produced a small caliber handgun and shot officer Adams. Officer Adams returned fire, critically wounding the suspect. Officer Adams was transported to a local hospital where he died shortly after midnight.
