Description: Posseman Anderson was shot while attempting to arrest a notorious outlaw wanted for stealing cattle. As Posseman Anderson and three deputies went to serve the warrant, they heard shots fired. They hurried to the location to find a man holding a Winchester. The man hid behind some bushes and fired, striking Posseman Anderson in the head. A gun battle ensued and the suspect surrendered.
