Description: Sergeant Arner, a member of the agency's dive team, drowned while performing an investigation in an ice-covered lake. Sergeant Arner and other officers were investigating a possible homicide which required searching the ice-covered water for the body. When Sergeant Arner failed to come to the surface, fellow officers began to search for him. Sergeant Arner's body was recovered and taken by medical helicopter to the St. John's Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
