Description: Sheriff Allen and Deputy William Clark were shot when they went to the home of a couple to place them under arrest for contract murder. The lawmen were invited into the home by the suspects and then ambushed. Sheriff Allen was shot at point-blank range in the head and died at the scene. Deputy Clark was shot in the stomach and died two days later (Panel 43-E: 23).
