Description: Officer Blount was shot and killed while investigating suspicious activity in the Red Oak section of Fulton County. Officer Blount initiated a minor traffic stop on a suspect vehicle. While writing the citation, the suspect exited his vehicle and shot Officer Blount twice in the head and once in the shoulder. Officer Blount was found by a fellow officer and transported immediately to Grady Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
