Description: Patrolman August was shot and killed by a suspect who was asked to leave a saloon. Patrolman Baker struck the suspect with his club when he refused leave the saloon. The suspect fatally shot Patrolman Baker several times before fleeing the scene. Patrolman Baker died of an abdominal gunshot wound two days later. The suspect was lynched by an angry mob.
