Description: Constable Barner was fatally shot when he and a posse attempted to arrest a suspect who had barricaded himself and his family in their residence. A bench warrant had been issued for the suspect regarding an assault. The suspect threw a stick of dynamite at the lawmen and then opened fire. The suspect turned the gun on himself and committed suicide.
