Description: Police Officer Barney was shot and killed while responding to a traffic crash. Officer Barney witnessed two individuals walking away from a vehicle crash and upon making contact with them, the male suspect produced a handgun and shot Officer Barney. The suspect then engaged in a shootout with responding officers and was killed at the scene. Officer Barney was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
