Description: Chief of Police Barrow was shot, with his own gun, as he attempted to arrest a suspect for public intoxication. A struggle ensued as Chief Barrow attempted to place the suspect under arrest. The suspect gained control of Chief Barrow's weapon and shot him in the abdomen. Chief Barrow died of his injuries six days later on June 27, 1913. The suspect was lynched by an angry mob.
