Description: On May 10, 1954, Patrolman Bell was escorting an ambulance to a local hospital when his patrol car crashed with a lumber truck. Patrolman Bell was thrown from the cruiser. He was treated at the hospital and then released. Four months after the accident, Patrolman Bell was found unresponsive while at home by his wife. He was transported to the hospital where he died shortly after arrival on September 5, 1954, due to a brain contusion related to the auto accident in May. Patrolman Bell is the brother of Newton Patrolman Henry Bell (Panel 2-E: 4).
