Description: Sergeant Booth and Boone County Sheriff Roger Wilson were waiting to intercept gunmen who had robbed a bank. Both lawmen were shot as they approached the car that they had waved to a halt. The suspects fled but were captured 16 months later. One of the suspects stood trial and was hanged; the other received a life sentence.
