Description: Sheriff Berghager died of a heart attack after executing a search warrant at a residence. The interior temperature in the residence was extremely high at the time. While searching the residence, Sheriff Berghager became exhausted and out of breath; he had to step outside several times to breathe fresh air. The next morning, Sheriff Berghager arrived at the office and seemed disoriented. After collapsing on the floor, he was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
