Description: Deputy Barton was off-duty when he witnessed two men fighting at the scene of an automobile accident. Deputy Barton stepped in and broke up the fight. As Deputy Barton was crossing the street to inspect the accident scene, he was struck by another car. Deputy Barton suffered a fractured skull and a broken leg and died at the hospital two days later.
