Description: On June 7, 1910, Patrolman Boettger was attempting to stop an out of control horse drawn wagon when he was pulled from his horse and dragged for half a block. Patrolman Boettger was able to remount his horse and stop the wagon. Patrolman Boettger collapsed and was transported to the hospital with multiple injuries including a fractured skull and a fractured spine. Patrolman Boettger never fully recovered from his injuries and retired from the department in 1920. Patrolman Boettger died of complications due to original injury on July 13, 1922.
