Description: Police Officer Boyer and Officer Henry Lucas were returning to the police station from patrol duty when the railroad car they were riding in was struck by a train. Officer Boyer died at the scene. Officer Lucas died of his injuries the next day. Three other officers were able to jump to safety. The inquest of the coroner concluded that a flagman was guilty of criminal negligence.
