Description: Sergeant Brand was ambushed and fatally shot while driving home after his shift at the Monroe County Correctional facility. The suspect was a former inmate from the same facility. The suspect used a laser-sighted rifle to shoot Sergeant Brand in the head. The suspect was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison.
