Description: Lieutenant Bricker died from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle crash while he and a fellow officer responded to a hold up call at a gas station. Their cruiser crashed into a coal car at a railroad crossing that was not equipped with warning lights. Lieutenant Bricker was transported to the hospital with a fractured skull and broken hip and died two days later. The second officer survived his injuries.
