Description: On November 4, 1908, Constable Brown was shot when he and two deputies went to a residence to arrest a wanted suspect. As the suspect fled the scene, he turned and shot one of the deputies. Constable Brown returned fire and wounded the suspect. He then attempted to render aid to the wounded deputy, who was also his son. The suspect fired again and shot Constable Brown in the abdomen. The lawmen returned fire and killed the suspect. Constable Brown was transported to the hospital where he died of his injuries four days later.
