Description: Deputy Sheriff Burk was shot when he attempted to arrest two suspects on warrants charging them of assaulting an officer. Deputy Burk and two other deputies went to the residence where the suspects reportedly were. Deputy Burk went to the back door and opened it. Deputy Burk was shot in the head and died at the scene. The suspects fled.
