Description: Deputy Marshal Brockus was shot and killed while attempting to arrest a suspect for violation of tax laws. Marshal Brockus attempted to arrest the suspect, but was met with a volley of gunfire from the suspect and two other desperados. Marshal Brockus wounded the men during the attempted arrest, but was shot through the abdomen three times and died.
