Description: Agent Bintliff and Deputy Charles Halpin were shot and killed near Redfield, South Dakota, as they attempted to arrest a man wanted for wounding an officer and who was also suspected of bootlegging. The suspect murdered both officers before fleeing and committed suicide as a posse of 400 men surrounded him.
