Description: Officer Burmeister was hit by a drunk driver while directing traffic around the scene of a three-car accident. The car through him into the side of the bridge, and Officer Burmeister bounced back and hit the car again. Officer Burmeister suffered fractures in both arms and legs, head and internal injuries. Officer Burmeister died 45 minutes after being hit.
