Description: Officer Betts was struck and killed and another officer critically injured while struggling with a suspect on I-285 in East Point, Georgia. The officers responded to investigate a suspicious person walking along the interstate when a struggle ensued. Officer Betts, the other officer and the suspect were struck by three different vehicles. Officer Betts and the suspect were pronounced dead at the scene. The other officer was admitted to the hospital in critical condition.
