Description: Officer Burtner was on motorcycle patrol when he was struck by a motorist who failed to yield at a red light. Officer Burtner's head struck the hood ornament of the vehicle which fractured his skull. He was rushed to the hospital where he remained in a coma until his death seven days later. The motorist pled guilty to negligent homicide and received probation.
