Description: Officer Black and his partner, Officer Rick Delfin, were members of the department anti-gang unit. While patrolling a well known gang neighborhood, the officers were struck by gunfire in an ambush style attack. Officer Black was shot in the head with an assault rifle which killed him instantly. Officer Delfin was seriously wounded.
