Description: Deputy Battle was at home when he was alerted by a neighbor regarding gunfire coming from a nearby residence. Deputy Battle went to investigate and found a dead man lying on the floor. A man suddenly emerged from another room, firing wildly. Deputy Battle was shot several times and died of his injuries the next day.
