Description: Deputy Sheriff Branham and Chief Silas Wilder were shot as they attempted to arrest a bootlegging suspect. Chief Wilder returned fire, killing the suspect. Deputy Branham was shot in the chest and died at the scene. Chief Wilder died of his injuries the next day.
