Description: Trooper Brinkerhoff was shot and killed while searching for a suspect who had shot and wounded a fellow State Trooper. Trooper Brinkerhoff and another trooper encountered the suspect as they searched a residence. As they struggled to place the suspect under arrest, Trooper Brinkerhoff was accidentally shot by a fellow trooper. Trooper Brinkerhoff succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. Friendly fire.
