Description: Prohibition Officer Ball and Special Agent William Porter (11-W: 6) were accidentally shot during a moonshine raid. The state prohibition officers and the federal agents did not know that their respective agencies were conducting a raid at the same location. Each group thought that the others were the moonshiners. A third officer was wounded but survived. Prohibition Officer Ball was the brother of Police Officer Charles Ball (19-W: 14).
