Description: Detective Sergeant Barnes was ambushed and shot as he patrolled the rail yard in Elyria, Ohio. Detective Barnes was shot in the abdomen and then shot a second time in the head at point-blank range. The suspect was convicted and sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Detective Barnes.
