Description: Trooper Blanton was shot and killed while attempting to make an arrest after a traffic stop. Trooper Blanton stopped a vehicle that was towing a car. The driver exited his vehicle, and an altercation ensued. Trooper Blanton was fatally shot twice and the suspect fled the scene of the crime. The suspect was apprehended hours later and charged with murder, armed robbery and various weapons and drug charges.
