Description: Officer Byrne was killed in a single-car automobile accident while responding to a medical emergency call. While responding, another vehicle stopped directly in front of his patrol car causing him to take evasive action. Officer Byrne's patrol car spun out of control and rolled over several times. Officer Byrne was transported to a local hospital where he died the following morning. The suspect driver fled the scene.
