Description: On February 11, 1919, Watchman Bell was ambushed and shot in the abdomen as he patrolled the east end of the Missouri Pacific Railroad bridge in Kansas City, Missouri. His partner, Watchman Platt, returned fire and wounded the suspect. Watchman Bell was transported to the hospital where he died two days later. The suspect was convicted of second degree murder.
