Description: Officer Butler and his partner responded to a disturbance call. While looking for the suspect they noticed a man leaning against a pole with his hand in his pockets. They asked what he was holding and when they frisked him he pulled out a gun and shot at them. Officer Butler chased after the man and was shot as the two struggled. When Officer Ziegler, his partner, reached the scene he was also shot. After hours of surgery, Officer Butler died in the hospital. Triplett, Officer Butler's murderer, was known as the "Chicago Killer."
