Description: Deputy Brister was fatally shot while attempting to arrest a suspect wanted on a charge of stealing livestock. Deputy Brister located the suspect sitting in a vehicle and informed him that he was under arrest. The suspect exited the vehicle and shot Deputy Brister several times. As the suspect fled, he exchanged fire with Alexandria Police Officer J.J. Baillio, who was wounded slightly. Officer Baillio returned fire and killed the suspect.
