Description: Officer Bevel was shot and killed while transporting a prisoner. The suspect, Andrea Hicks Jackson, was drunk and had been smashing in windsheilds. Officer Bevel arrested her and was transporting her to the station when she pulled out a cancealed hand gun shooting Officer Bevel once in the head and twice in the chest. She was convicted and sentenced to death. Case was highlighted on "American Justice" on 6/4/97.
