Description: Patrolman Brandsma and Detective Samuel Slater were shot and killed when they arrived at a residence to arrest four suspect bank robbers. Patrolman Brandsma was instantly killed as he forced his way into house. Detective Slater was shot twice in the abdomen died two days later at the hospital.
