Description: Lieutenant Bannister was shot and killed while investigating a hit-and-run accident. While investing the automobile crash, the suspected driver exited his vehicle and attempted to flee from the accident scene. Lieutenant Bannister arrived on the scene and began to exit his vehicle when the suspect fatally shot him. The suspect was later shot and killed by fellow police officer.
