Description: Sergeant Burke was off-duty when he noticed a suspicious vehicle similar to one described in a recent stolen vehicle report. Sergeant Burke called dispatch to report the stolen vehicle and requested back-up to stop the vehicle. While pursuing the vehicle, Sergeant Burke experienced a cardiac tamponade (increased heart compressions), lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a parked car. Sergeant Burke was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
