Description: Officer Belluomini and Deputy U.S. Marshal Roy Frakes were killed at the federal courthouse in Chicago. Officer Belluomini was shot twice in the chest by an inmate who had overpowered a law enforcement officer and gained control of the service weapon. The inmate was on trial for eight bank robberies. Officer Belluomini returned fire and severely wounded the perpetrator. The perpetrator then shot himself in the head.
