Description: Deputy Buck and Marshal Gamber were in their department cruiser in pursuit of two motorcycles for various traffic violations. Marshal Gamber fired a warning shot for the suspect to stop. The driver of the lead motorcycle turned and returned fire at the officers. Deputy Buck was shot in the face, the bullet entered his nose and lodged in his mouth. He died six months later when he developed an infection from the bullet inside his mouth. Deputy Buck never returned to work and died as a direct result of the gun shot. Marshal Gamber was not injured.
